I'm Jeff Burchett. I've been a musician since 1987 and an engineer since 2010. I spent years in game and gaming audio at Turtle Beach and The Game Agency, and I've recorded voiceover, composed, and mixed for national television and radio. Since 2015, I've helped hundreds of artists finish their music, from local Fort Collins bands to clients across the country. The Cat Mansion is where that work happens.

Mastering

Mastering is most of what I do, and it's the last step before your music reaches listeners. I master for streaming, vinyl, CD, and broadcast, with Apple Digital Masters available. You can sit with me in the room and approve the master on the monitors, or work with me remotely from anywhere. Every master includes two revisions. See mastering rates and process.

Mixing

A good mix is the difference between a song that competes and one that doesn't. I mix on analog hardware and best-in-class plugins, and I'll shape your tracks into a finished, balanced stereo file ready to master. Two revisions included. Remote or in person. See mixing rates and process.

Recording and Production

The room is built for focused tracking: vocals, guitars, bass, synthesizers, piano, and overdubs. Come track your next song, or work with me on production to shape arrangements and push a record further. See the studio and rates.

The Room

The studio is treated and tuned by Music City Acoustics, with monitoring on a pair of Neumann KH 310s and room correction by IK ARC. That means what I hear is what's actually there, and what you approve will translate to car speakers, earbuds, and everywhere else your listeners are. The signal chain runs SSL and Audient preamps, an SSL Fusion and Bus+ Compressor for mastering, Empirical Labs compression, and premium conversion, into microphones from Neumann, Royer, Soyuz, AKG, and Shure.

I know the gear list doesn't matter to everyone. What matters is that it all works together to make your music sound as good as it can.
